I understand how life is not always straight forward. Sometimes
a particular event or crisis brings things to a head, and you may be
finding it difficult to cope.
Perhaps you are struggling with relationship or family problems.
You may be experiencing periods of depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, anger, self doubt or loneliness.
Have you suffered a bereavement or loss?
Maybe things just don't feel right, but you're not sure why.
This may be based on past experience, a present problem or a future concern. I can help you to understand the concerns you are facing and provide support when difficult emotions are being stirred up.
I work with both individuals and couples, have a warm and empathic approach and see each person as a unique individual. I provide a comfortable, safe and confidential space in which you can talk with someone who will remain impartial and who will not criticise or judge you or tell you what to do. Together we can explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours, helping you find ways to begin to sow the seeds for change.
I am an experienced, qualified counsellor and psychotherapist (UKCP accredited and MBACP). I work in both private practice and NHS GP surgeries and have a wealth of experience gained from working at Mind and a number of other organisations. My integrative training enables me to adapt and use an approach which is right for you at a particular time. I do not set a limit on how many sessions you might need - we can work this out together and we can review it at any time.
I work with the following issues:
- Relationship difficulties (partner, children, family, friendships)
- Bereavement and Loss
- Low self-esteem and lack of confidence
- Affairs and Betrayal
- Divorce and Separation
- Domestic Abuse
- Adult survivors of childhood abuse
- Family and Parenting concerns
- Work related concerns
- Health issues
